Dipsaus is a podcast from the Netherlands for People of Colour and everybody else who is interested.

This episode; ’Being Black in the Netherlands’ discusses the different ways of being black and the variety of experiences that are associated with this. What does it mean if you identify as a black woman in political, societal or personal sense? We talk about black diversity in this episode. The mainstream idea is that Africa is country and that everybody that comes from Africa is black and identifies that way – although Ebisse (Ethiopian) only started identifying as black once she started living in a ‘white’ country. In this episode we talk as a group of women of colour about what it means to identify as such in the Netherlands, about ‘ colorism’ and about being black as fluid concept depending on your context. Being black in the Netherlands is something different than being black in Morocco.
